Reading/Writing and STEM

Continue to check our website frequently for additional programs to be posted. Children attending CCE/JWR programs must be fully toilet trained, able to self-feed, and behave in such a way that they do not pose a harm to self or others.

The following guidelines will be required: 

  • Each child must bring their own mask, and wear it during camp.
  • Instructors will check kids in and out of class curbside. If your child has had the following symptoms in the past 24 hours we ask that you do not bring them to class: a fever of 100.4 or higher, a cough, sore throat, shortness of breath OR been exposed to COVID-19 in the past two weeks.
  • If your child, or any other family member, has been sick, PLEASE stay home for the well being of others.
  • No parents will be allowed in the building.
  • Each child must bring their own water bottle and snack daily. Drinking fountains will not be accessible. 
  • Children will be encouraged to socially distance themselves from others.
  • Hand washing or sanitizing will be required.

Our goal is to offer safe classes for our community. Thank you for adhering to these guidelines.

Camp Invention, Summer Camp

Ages: 6-11

A nationally acclaimed summer STEM program led by local Camas teachers. Students will think creatively, and build confidence in this summer camp! Hands-on STEM activities include: Build and test a device to launch rubber ducks, reverse engineer a wireless microphone, design a nature-inspired morphing vehicle that travels on land and add prototype elements to adapt for air and water, develop inventions for your own Solar-Bot cricket robot.

Jr. Scientist

Ages: 4-6

Campers will use scientific method to create inventions and simple experiments. Slime, volcanoes and Egg drop challenge to name a few. Wear a mask, bring a snack and water bottle to class.

Science - Go Green, Summer Camp

Ages: 8-12

Come learn about sustainable environmental practices from seed germination and gardening basics to the raising of quails and chickens. Recycle, reuse and reduce material to make a worm composting bin. Get dirty working outside in the farm area and indoors with microscopes!

Solve the mystery of the Disappearing Donuts! Practice fingerprinting, white powder identification, tool and bite mark analysis. Campers sort through and analyze evidence to determine the most likely perpetrator and recover the Donuts!
