Continue to check our website frequently for additional programs to be posted. Children attending CCE/JWR programs must be fully toilet trained, able to self-feed, participate independently, and behave in such a way that they do not pose a harm to self or others. If a student is not capable of these guidelines, then supportive accommodations from family or a representative is welcome. Safe behavior is expected.

Late pick up fee is $1 per minute

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

  • There is a 10% processing fee (up to $20 max per purchase) for refunds or cancellations if the office is notified one week prior to the start of camp. After this time no refunds will be issued.
  • Our office will issue refunds only – no changes. If you need to make a change, a refund will be given (minus the processing fee) and you must purchase the new camp.

Camp Invention "Illuminate"

Summer Camp

Ages: 6-11, Give your young innovator an inspiring, action-packed summer adventure! Exciting, hands-on challenges will spark curiosity and build their confidence as they jump into limitless STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fun with opportunities to imagine, experiment and create.

INNOVATION: Gear up for sports and invention as you investigate the science of sports ball design, then personalize your own light-up game board. Get your creativity rolling to achieve your goal of being inducted into the Game of Fame!

PERSISTENCE: Shine bright as you use the science of light to create a customized Glow Box! Find inspiration from illuminating inventions and animals that glow to reveal a mystery behind a creature with a glowing feature.

PROBLEM SOLVING: Embark on an epic global operation to solve real-world water challenges! With help from your own robotic Lab-On-Wheels, explore water-based technology, then unlock sustainable design thinking by engineering a tiny house with crops.

CREATIVITY: Step into the Prototyping Studio to bring your big ideas to life! Mold and transform unique inventions as you uncover the many places world-changing inventors create, then protect your prototypes with the power of intellectual property.

Ages: 6-13, CSD Robotics teachers are offering half-day WeDo and Lego EV3 Robotics and Programming summer camps in June. Please see class descriptions below.

Ages: 6-8, For students who have an interest in building with Legos and using block programming on Chromebooks to program robots. We use Lego WeDo devices and software to teach robotics programing in a step-by-step guided setting.

iSTEM Camps

Summer Camp

For ages: 8-11, Join us for a variety of quality STEM camps this summer! iSTEM and Camas Community Education are offering camps on Scratch, Robotics, and Civil Engineering ONI. These camps are taught by knowledgeable adults who LOVE STEM. Space is limited ~ register now!

Instructors: Jenel Cohen and other iSTEM Staff
Fee: $350
Ages: 8-11, A guided game development workshop in Scratch. Students will first learn how to develop a simple retro arcade game, and will then design and build their own game, advancing in complexity as time permits. Includes advanced development concepts in kid friendly terms, like Unit Testing, Keep It Simple, and Don't Repeat Yourself practices.

Ages: 8-11, A guided, super hands-on robotics workshop where students will learn how to plan, build, and troubleshoot a variety of robots and robotic mechanisms. iSTEM will teach students the development pipelines and give guidance of what is feasible, but students will be able to imagine and create their own robots / robotic mechanisms.

Ages: 7-11, A heavy gaming, light lecture course. Based around the hit game Oxygen Not Included, kids will engineer and manage resources and control systems to build an epic extraterrestrial space colony. Some features include food production, waste management, animal husbandry, construction, air management, and more.

Lego Engineering - Core Concepts

Summer Camp

Ages: 7-11, We'll make cars that move, windmills and more. Students must follow directions from the book for the projects. They will learn about parts like gears and motors and how they work together.

Invent It - Build It

Summer Camp

Ages: 7-11, Kids will design, test, and tweak their inventions while working through the scientific method. Sample challenges include a confetti launcher, a car that can be powered without a motor, or the classic egg drop challenge.
